Halloween, 2010

Unfortunately, I am missing the trip  to Key West this year, and am sure I cannot make it next week, for the 'Meeting of the Minds', the annual get-to-gather of the Jimmy Buffett fans from all over the country.
Well, it's been a week or more since I wrote here, so I had better catch up with things.
Last week was not so much to talk about, other than every day i take Romeo to the park for a walk or run, depending on which park we go to.  If it's Paw Park, he gets free and can run all over the park without a leash.  If it's Payne park, he has to be on a leash, as he does not always 'come' when he's called, and there is much to much traffic in the area for him to be free.
Other than that, Dorian (an old friend whom I have known for years) and I did manage to get away for awhile Wednesday, and we took a short road trip to Madeira Beach.  Great tourist area, lots of seaside shops and eating places. We had lunch at the Friendly Fisherman, and just walked around looking in the various shops.  We did spot a wine tasting place, and thought we maybe should try it....so, we got this pitcher of Sangria's and just sat and watched the crowd pass us by.  All in all, a very pleasant day.
Today is Halloween, so the ghosts and goblins will be out in force tonight.  Guess we should maybe get something ready for  the kids.

Oct. 13, 2010

Sorry, been awhile since I posted here.  No real excuse, just did not do any posting.
A few things have happened since I last wrote here. The dog has been feeling a litle better without the lampshade, and we have gone to the dog park or Paine park every day, so he and I get some exercise.
I have had a couple of calls for the union.  Sunday at the Asolo, for the load-in for the Ringling show, and Tuesday at the Opera warehouse, so I have done a few things.  Back to the Asolo Sunday evening for the take-out.
We did manage to get out to the boat once, but it seems to be a long time between visits.
Still have not managed to get the ramps ready for loading the scooter, but I may this week.

Monday Sept.27,2010

Well, Romeo is really living it up now that he has the lampshade collar off.  We went to the park, and he had fun running with his friends for the past few  weeks.  They did not know what to make of him at first...they had never seen him without that thing on him.
We went for a drive looking for several things.  We did finally get every thing we went looking for, but it took several stores.
Rest of the day was sorta laidback.  Some TV and a great meal Jeanne made in the crock-pot.
I guess that's about it for Monday.

Sunday, Sept.26,2010

Here it is, Sunday morning.  Today we are taking off the lampshade that Romeo has lived with for 3 weeks.
He seems to enjoy having it off.  We went to the park and he was just fine.  Going to be good havinng that off.
Another slow day for us.  Nothing going on.  We  did manage to go to Anna Maria Oyster Bar for dinner, which is always good.
That's about all for today.

Saturday , Sept.25,2010

Well, Romeo has that wonderful lampshade on yet.  Vet said  to keep it on another day so he doesn't lick where the stitches were yet.  He is not too happy.  Tomorrow it comes off. I took him to the PawPark where he got a little run in even with the lampshade  handicap.
A very laid back day for us here.  Just siting around reading and playing on the computer.
Watched a lot of recorded TV  tonight.  Cannot watch all the new shows at once.  Really nice to have a DVR.
Guess it's time to close this down for today.

Friday, Sept.24,2010

Today was sorta busy.  Jeanne had to take the dog (Romeo, a Chinese Crested) to the vet to get stitches removed, while I had a doctor's. appointment.  Both were uneventful, and satisfactory outcome.  Altho Romeo has to wear this lampshade thingy for another day or two. We'll all be happy to get that off.
Not much else happening right now.

Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010

Well, this is my first post, so I am certainly still learning.  Thought I'd give it a try.

Jeanne (my wife) went to the dentist today, to get her teeth cleaned.  Not too happy about it, but needed to be done. I guess we will be eating light tonight.
I waited around for Dorian to come by.  Said he had a little work for us to do.  He finally got here just as Jeanne got back from the dentist. We went to see about a sink top, but they did not have what he wanted.
We did decide to go to the boat for awhile.  Good choice.
We stopped at Krystal for lunch (just can't seem to get enough of them), then went on to the boat.
Guess I should describe the boat a bit.  It's a 28' pontoon houseboat. An older model, but very well built and great for just getting away from the world on.  It does not run right now, motor not working, but that does not bother us...we just sit on the front porch and tell each other lies, etc.
Had a beer or two and just enjoyed the breeze.  The boat is tied up to the dock at Palmetto, FL, and we have all the amenities one could want right there.
After a couple of hours, we were talked out and decided to just go home.
All in all, a very nice outing.
